Ruby Grimes Obituary

Ruby Ellen Grimes died peacefully on May 1, 2008, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Ruby was born to an Arizona pioneer family in Douglas on October 31, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Grimes Sr.; her sister, Bonnie; her brothers, Charlie and Archie; and her son, Frank Jr. Ruby was good-hearted, loyal to her family and friends, and remained independent until the last few weeks of her life. She was devoted to service through the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #48. One of her proudest moments was when she became Worthy Matron, knowing that she had fulfilled both her mother and husband's wishes for her, "even though they had to watch from above." Surviving are her daughter, Norma Andress; her grandchildren, Tori (John), Kim (Kevin), Eric (Jitka), Lyndon (Krissy), Francine, Tracy and Blake. She is also survived by her loving friend and faithful caregiver, Margaret Ballard. Although Ruby will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched, she will be remembered in our hearts forever. If you so desire donations can be made in her memory to Carondelet Hospice.
