I knew Stan in l949 as i dated his wife's
brother in Freeport, Illinois. Married Royal Hunter in August 1950 and divorced
in 1963. Stan and Dorothy came to the farm where we lived with their children Patricia and Albert. Stan had a plot at the farm to grow new strains of green peas. Patty would come with me to the barn. They were a great family and would like to hear from her. So sorry to hear of Stans death. Great man.

I wish to offer the family condolences on the death of Stan. I met Stan in 1964 when I joined the faculty of the University of Wisconsin as a pea breeder and researcher. At that time he was with Ardie Gustaphson and I was pleased to subsequently visit Western Valley Seed Company in Moscow.

I respected Stan, his knowledge of pea breeding and culture, and his great way of interacting with people. And of course who can forget his firm handshake! He was a good friend and a strong supporter of the processing industry. He will be missed by those who knew and/or worked with him.

For the last few years my wife and I have been spending some of the winter in Sunsites, AZ, not so far from Tucson. Had I realized Stan was so close I would have tried to visit him.

Best wishes. Earl Gritton, Prof. Emeritus of U.W. Agronomy, Madison

Pat: I will miss your dad. He was one of the nicest people to have a dialogue with
here in Sun City. We are losing too many
of our WW2 service members. John E. Coulahan, another ww2 veteran
