Stephen MASHEK Obituary

MASHEK, Stephen, U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.), 67, of Oro Valley, AZ, passed away April 24, 2010. Stephen was born December 16, 1942 in Waterloo, IA and graduated from West Waterloo High School and attended the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin - Osh Kosh. Stephen was a retired U.S. Army Colonel and retired in 2004 as a District manager from Kimberly Clark after 30 years of service. Stephen is survived by is wife, Mary DuFrane Mashek; son, Joseph W. Mashek; daughter, Monica R. Mashek and brother, Dan (Linda) Mashek of Eldridge, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Jeanette Mashek. Stephen was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni, United States Golf Association and St. Mark Parish Council. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 2727 E. Tangerine Rd. Burial will be in Holy Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made to the St. Mark Building Fund or the Steve Mashek Memorial SAE Scholarship Fund, c/o Dan Mashek, 311 Country Club Ct., Eldridge, IA 52748. Col. Mashek,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army-especially during the Vietnam War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
