Timothy Ray BENJAMIN

BENJAMIN, Timothy Ray, 55, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital. Tim was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 15, 2013 to Nancy and James Benjamin. Tim became a quadriplegic at age 15 after a diving accident. Despite this, he went on to graduate in 1980 from Ohio State University with a BS in Business Administration/ Finance. After a move to Tucson, he then went on to receive his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 1986. In Tucson, Tim worked as a Management Information Systems Coordinator in September 1982, a Business Manager for Southern Arizona Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Associates in May 1985, an Associate Director/Business Manager for University Physicians Department of Radiation Oncology in August 1987, a Clinical Practice Administrator for University Physicians Department of Medicine in October 1994, and a Director of Business Operations for Children's Clinics for Rehabilitative Services in August 1996, from which he retired in 2002. Tim will be remembered as a generous and loving man with a wicked sense of humor. He loved watches, flashlights, movies, basketball, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Tim will be sorely missed by his love of 13 years, Elaine Cassel; as well as by his sons, Paul and Tyler Benjamin; his brother, Jim (Lisa); cousin, Sherri; nephews, James, Brian and Eric and by his nieces, Ashley and Emma. A Memorial Service will be held over the summer in Columbus, Ohio. Donations in his name may be made to the Creative Living Center in Columbus, Ohio which provided housing and supportive services to Tim when he was first injured.
