Carl Gene Hefley
Mar 19, 1934 - May 5, 2025
Carl Gene Hefley was born on March 19, 1934, in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. He was the son of Maxie and Charlotte Hefley. He was raised in Gore, Oklahoma. In 1957, Carl enlisted in the US Army and served two years. He returned to Oklahoma and began work in the oil and gas industry. Due to his dedication and business acumen, he founded and built a successful gas analysis business, in which he served as owner and CEO until his retirement. In March of 1962, Carl met the love of his life Judy Resler. They were married in September of that year. Their only child, Janice Kay, was born in April of 1963. Carl was very sociable and thrived on conversation, from the lighthearted and fun to the serious and intellectual. His ability to create captivating stories was equally balanced by his gift of being able to empathize and listen to those around him. He had a brilliant mind and was an excellent teacher, able to effectively share his extensive knowledge and skillset with those who desired to learn. Carl knew no strangers and touched lives everywhere he went with his sweet spirit and gentle demeanor. To Carl, his faith and family always came before everything else. He was always happiest at family gatherings and dinners. He loved taking Family vacations and spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids. He could barely even sit down without his grandkids wanting to snuggle or to sit on his lap, and he wouldn't have it any other way. Carl was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church and was greatly loved by his church family. His many decades of faithful service and dedication were an inspiration for all around him. Carl loved sports, especially baseball, and was an avid Cardinals fan. He was also a referee for local basketball and enjoyed girls' softball and basketball games. Carl was preceded in death by his parents Maxie and Charlotte Hefley, three brothers, his sister and his wife, Judy. He leaves behind a daughter Janice Wingfield and her husband Don, one granddaughter Sarah LeFevre and her husband Dylan along with their three children, Isaac, Naomi and Nora; one grandson Jack Wingfield and his two children, James and Finley; five nieces and one nephew. Donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow or to
