Dale Anthony Groden, 88, passed away November 25, 2024. Born October 25, 1936, to loving parents, Joe and Lois (Carter) Groden in Tulsa, OK.
A 1954 graduate of Daniel Webster High School. Upon graduation, joined the US Navy, serving in the Korean War aboard the USS Boxer CVA-21 Carrier, whereas he lost most of his hearing. After the war, was stationed with the US Marine Corps, as a dental technician, at Camp Pendleton. He loved the Navy and was very proud to have served his country. However, he was a typical sailor…..had a girl in every port! Prior to discharge, was stationed at Balboa Hospital in San Diego, as a hospital corpsman. Attended San Diego State, San Diego, CA and Northeastern State, Tahlequah, OK.
A true natural born salesman. Once you met him, he was never forgotten. He loved his wife, family and friends, always full of jokes... Has friends all over the world and is still in touch with many of them.
Preceded in death by parents, sister Peggy Ann (14 months old, diphtheria), brother-in-law, Harry Jordan.
Survived by loving wife, Alberta (Liz) Elizabeth (Hart) Groden, his grade school sweetheart, sister, Betty Jo Jordan, sons, Randy and Chris (Danna) Groden, Bobby Dale (Jeanette) Corban, daughters, Lisa Carpenter (Steve), Cindy (Denny) Pratt, grandchildren, David, Tara and Anna Groden, Molly and Henry Carpenter, Logan and Tanner Pratt, nephews, Rodney (Betty) and Tony (Vicki) Jordan and niece, Debbie McLeod. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A visitation will be on Monday, December 2nd, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Calvary Cemetery Chapel.
