David Inhofe Obituary

David E. Inhofe

Feb 10, 1948 - Apr 5, 2025

David Earle Inhofe was born February 10 1948 in Des Moines, IA. He passed away April 5, 2025. He passed away quickly and easily in his sleep, as if it was a reward from God.

His family moved to Tulsa when David was 2 years old and he graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa, the University of Tulsa with a master's degree in mathematics, and from Stanford University with a master's degree in statistics.

He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 54 years, Susan Inhofe. A great father to his son Nick Inhofe and daughter-in-law, Jillian Inhofe.

He was a very fond kitty dad to his precious little cat, SusieQ. He was very close to his sister, Jan Sweeney, and to his many nieces and nephews.

David was a triathlete, specializing pool, poker and bowling. His sense of humor was one of his strongest personality traits. Wherever he was, there was fun and laughter. He was always a good friend to his friends, and occasionally a good friend to complete strangers. He loved helping people.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Evelyn Inhofe, brother Denny Inhofe, and older sister Sharon Van den Eeden.

David was an incredible man. He loved his wife and son more than anyone could ever imagine. He was kind to people and held a weekly gentleman get together with friends of more than 40 years. He was always there for his friends with a lending ear. RIP David! Susie and Nick, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that David loved you both so very much.

With heavy hearts we bid farewell to our Uncle David. May the roots of our memorial tree run deep and its limbs stretch wide, symbolizing the love, laughter & memories we'll cherish forever. May he rest in peace & fly high embraced by our loved ones up into the sky. Sending love, light & strength to our Aunt Susie and Cousin Nick. xx

I am one of the complete strangers David was a good friend to as referenced in the obituary. Wishing love and peace to his family and friends. The violin is laid to rest, not the music.
