David Scherer Obituary

David Paul Scherer

David Paul Scherer, age 50, died in Apollo Beach, FL, on April 7, 2023. He was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA. He'd lived and worked in Tulsa, OK, for 15 years, before moving to Florida in 2022, to enjoy more of the sunshine. David graduated from Nazareth High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and held a degree in Electronics from Lincoln Technological Institute. He was loved by family and friends for his sense of humor and willingness to lend a hand when help was needed. His absence will be felt by many. He is survived by his daughter, Emma Scherer (Broken Arrow, OK); and his sister, Kimberly Spering; brother-in-law and nephews, Mark, Matt and Connor Spering (Macungie, PA).

A year has passed since you went to Heaven. We think of you many times a day. You were the best son anyone could have asked for. I know you're with Grammy and Pap for sure. Every time I see a red hibiscus flower, we think of you because you bought 2 for us and planted them a few days before you passed. When our day comes, we know you will be waiting for us. Love, Mom and Dad

I went to school with david and he was a wonderful person. I am so sorry to hear the news of his passing and just wanted to say that the world has lost a shining light of decency. Rest in Peace, David.

You have made your final flight into the wild blue yonder´s. You are now relieved from your post. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Have a smooth flight. A Navy Vietnam Veteran.

This is a corrected and updated obituary that was printed on April 30th, 2023 by someone else. Our loving son, David, was the best thing that ever happened to us. He came to Florida one year ago to spend some quality time with us and to take care of us in our old age. We were so blessed this past year with his presence and his loving ways. He had the kindest heart and was the best son anyone could want. Rest in peace sweet David. We will love you forever and look forward to the day when we will meet again in Heaven.

A wonderful young man who attended church on Sundays with his mom & dad (George & Barbara) and always had time to chat with the neighbors walking their dogs. A life gone too soon and one that will be missed by his family.
