Douglas Martin Obituary

MARTIN -- Douglas Charles, 51, passed away on May 7, 2005. Born in Tulsa, OK, he graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1972. His journey through life lead him from Tulsa to Norman, OK, Eureka Springs, AR, San Diego, CA and finally to the Seattle, WA area. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor which gave his family and friends the gift of laughter and joy. At the same time, his eloquent way with words in those rare, serious moments was truly inspirational. He was passionately proud and deeply devoted to his family. His place in our hearts will always be filled with wonderful memories and the positive influence from the traits of a good man. Preceded in death by his mother, Billee Maxwell. He is survived by: his loving wife of more than 20 years, Cathy; daughters, Katy and Molly of Shoreline, WA; father, William A. Martin and wife, Mary of Tulsa, OK; brother, Richard Martin and wife, Joan of Northampton, PA; sisters, Janice Hickey of Tulsa, OK and Julie Perrine and husband, Pat of Edmonds, WA; and countless loyal and caring friends. A Memorial service will be held at University Unitarian Church in Seattle, WA on June 4, 2005. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Doug Martin Fund, c/o Washington Mutual, Ballard, P.O. Box 70565, Seattle, WA 98107.
