Elyse Cannon Tyler Strawn Obituary
STRAWN - Tyler, 20, accomplished pool player, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2007. He was born April 16, 1987 in Oklahoma City, OK to David and Elane Strawn. Tyler was a 2 time BCA National Champion, 3rd in the world as a 15 year old in the 18 and under junior division in Taiwan and top ten player in the state as a 20 year old. He is survived by: mother, Elane Strawn, of Broken Arrow, OK; father, David Strawn, Panama City, FL; brother, David Strawn II and fiancee, Tiffany Brewer; sister, Megan Strawn and fiance, Jason Fisher, all of Tulsa; maternal grandmother, Katherene Peoples, Oklahoma City; and paternal grandmother, Sophia Strawn, Del City, OK; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2007 and a service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2007 all at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500. Elyse it has been a very hard week, with your birthday on February 16th you would have 19 years old. I remember all the birthday fun when you were little and as you got older you always wanted to get your hair done and go shopping and out to lunch. I think about what we would have done this year for your birthday if you were here with us and get so sad. I wish you were here with us, that is my only wish....love you mom

Thank you to everyone for your offers of condolences and prayers. Tyler and Elyse will always be missed. Their deaths have changed many lives. I just want to let everyone know how thankful I am to the Tulsa community for all their support for both families. Also the people of Oklahoma City, and Panama City for their support for both families. This page will end on November 10, 2007. I wanted both families to know before this guest book is closed, that your families are in my prayers. I had signed earlier and wanted you to know this terrible news about these two beautiful young people hurt me and I cannot imagine the hurt you are suffering now and will for a long time. Chuck and I were sorry to hear of Tyler's & Elyse's terrible accident. We have grandchildren the same age as they were and cannot comprehend the loss you must feel. The love and memories that are in your hearts for your children can never be taken away from you.
Elaine I wish there was something I could do to ease your pain but of course all anyone can do is offer you a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to you if and when you are ready. We never know the ways of God but I'm sure he has a plan for Tyler and Elyse. They are in the arms of God.
Chuck and I remember seeing and talking to Tyler the last time and he gave me a big hug and told me he loved me. He thanked Chuck for always being there to take him to the pool. I remember him playing basketball in the east parking lot. I remember him always with a smile on his face. He was the sweetest boy and he will be missed a lot by Chuck and I.
Bunny you know I’m here for you and always will be. Please call if you or Elaine need anything and I will try to do it.
We would like to say to Elyse's parents we met Elyse and are so sorry for their loss and hope they take comfort in the fact that Tyler loved their daughter and she loved him and you never saw one without the other. Please except our condolences for your loss.

Tyler, you were always so darling and fun-loving. You will always be that curly-headed blond baby with big blue eyes who watched intently every thing around you. It is hard to remember you without a smile on your face which you shared with everyone. May God's face be shining on you and Elyse with Granddaddy by your side. You were both taken from us so early. May you watch over us until we come to meet you. We love you both.

I met Elyse through her grandmother, Mary Cook. She was such a beautiful young lady and I know that Mary was so very proud of her. Elyse lost her grandfather just a little over a year ago and now she has joined him in Heaven.
Mary & Libby, I'm so sorry that you have suffered such loss. I can't imagine the pain that you are going through. Look to God as he can ease that pain.

My Elyse was a delightfully precocious child.
When her brother was in wrestling, she was a wrestler too. And like any little sister worth her stuff, she didn't let him get far without her.
When asked what she wanted for Christmas, her answer three years running was "a monkey". I don't think she wanted all those books I had Santa send, but she always smiled and said, "thank you." Finally, I got the message.
She could sit beside you and give you a smile that would melt your heart.
She played baseball, number six.
I turned around, and the precocious imp had become, beauty. And the smile, well, it remained the same.
I will always miss and love you, Elyse, while I keep you safely tucked in my heart.

Elyse, our hearts ache for you and Tyler. Not a day went by that you didn't make us happy to be your mom and dad. You were just so sweet and we never dreamed you would leave us.
