Frank Watkins Obituary
Franklin Dale Watkins was born on September 26, 1937 in Bixby, OK, to Edward Harrison Watkins and Carrie Hallie (Collins) Watkins. He passed from this life on December 27, 2020 in Tulsa at the age of 83. Frank was a well-known and respected member of the Bixby community for virtually all of his life. He was proud to have honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army. He founded Watkins Sand Co. and led the company as President for over 55 years. He will be fondly remembered as an "old school guy" that still preferred to do business with a handshake. He worshipped at the First United Methodist Church of Leonard. He loved to fish, watch Western movies and shows and riding around with his beloved brother, Adrion. He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Virginia "Jenny" Watkins; 5 brothers, Buss, Tom, E.B., Hoss and Jack and 2 sisters, Stella and Geneva. Frank is survived by 3 children, Carrie Davis and husband, Wade, of Grove, Ronnie Watkins and wife, Bailey, of Glenpool and Russell Watkins and wife, Traci, of Broken Arrow; 1 brother; Adrion Watkins and wife, Rhonda, of Bixby; 8 grandchildren, Jacob Watkins, Holly Watkins, Rebecca Watkins, Jessica Watkins, Dalton Henderson, Shelton Henderson, Lane Davis and Tuff Davis; 5 great-grandchildren, McKenna, Jersey, Asher, Hunter and Averi; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and longtime friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Friday, January, 1 in the Leonard-Marker Funeral Home of Bixby. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 2, in the Leonard-Marker Chapel officiated by Rev. Ken Smith. Interment will follow in the Bixby Cemetery. MarkerFuneralHomes.com
