John Kerr Obituary

KERR - John P., 86, a long time Tulsa Attorney, died Thursday, June 14, 2007. He was born in a split log cabin in Cherokee County, to Brown and Pearl Kerr. After a colorful upbring- ing, he married Bernice, his loving wife of 63 years. He entered the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he served in the medical core. He later worked at the lab at Amoco Oil in Tulsa for many years, before attending TU Law School and becoming an Attorney at the age of 43. His practice was primarily in the areas of probate and property law. He was a graduate of Northeastern State University and the University of Tulsa, School of Law. He and Bernice had a very active social life together with their many friends. Their hobbies together were square dancing, round dancing, playing bridge and traveling. He was proud of having become a 33rd degree Mason. He is survived by their many friends and also by his family consisting of his son, John, Jr., and his wife, Judy; his son, Bill and his wife, Donna. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nathan and wife, Aubrey, Lindsay and husband, Randall and Natalie; and by his great-grandchildren, Chance, Isabella and Meghan. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Garrison and by Jimmy Viola, the son of his deceased sister, Louise. He donated his body to medical science. A Memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, at All Souls Unitarian Church. Dear Bernice, John & Bill,

I don't know if you will remember me and my family. We lived next door to you all on Latimer Pl. My parents are Jim an Jane Spence, I'm Kandi.

I was sorry to hear about the passing of John. I just wanted to let you and your family know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
