Leon was not only a great neighbor, he also recruited me to join the Rotary Club of Southside Tulsa. I had recently married Jill, and after going back and forth between Punta Gorda, Florida and Tulsa, we moved to Tulsa in 2011. Rotary was exactly what I needed after leaving Florida. It not only enabled me to meet some great people in my new city, it also gave me an opportunity to get involved with helping others. Leon and I did several projects together including Biscuit Acres Dog Park, Salvation Army Bell Ringing and Dictionaries for Third Graders. When Leon reached the stage he could no longer hear what was being said at Rotary Meetings, I would go over to join him in to watching various sports (both College and Professional football, basketball and baseball) on his large screen TV. He had a headset so he could turn the volume way up without blasting me out of the room. I’m really going to miss you Leon.
