Nancy Loye Obituary

LOYE - Nancy, born March 17, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN to Winifred Sanders Loye and Percival Elliot Loye, passed from this life in Tulsa, OK on January 10, 2008, at age 78. Survived by: son, James Hart Price IV and his wife Margaret Pula Price of Kansas City, MO; daughters, Rebecca Loye Price and her husband Warren "Chacho" Herman of San Diego, CA, and Mary Whitney Price of Jenks, OK. Other survivors include: a brother David Elliot Loye of Carmel, CA and sister Wendy Loye Hall of Encinitas, CA. Nancy is an alumna of College High School in Bartlesville. Nancy started the Key Elementary Skills Room for learning disabled students, directing it from 1971 to 1974. In 1971 Nancy was co-president of the Tulsa area ACLD (Association for Children with Learning Disabilities) and served on the state ACLD, for which she earned an award. Nancy began her psychiatric nursing career at age 45, and moved to California. She returned to Bartlesville following her retirement from nursing, and managed a thrift store for the Washington County Association for Retarded Citizens. She also served on the Human Rights Committee reviewing incident reports and advocating for the developmentally disabled. Memorial service is at 3 p.m., May 24, 2008, in the chapel of Saint Simeon's Episcopal Home, 3701 N. Cincinnati in Tulsa, OK. VIEW AND SIGN THE ONLINE GUEST BOOK: www.legacy.com/tulsaworld
