Like many of you, we became friends with Steve thru youth soccer. Our kids, Chase and Payton, played with and against his children, Ryan and Rachel for many years. I have fond memories of many games and weekends spent watching the kids compete, and listening to Steve encourage the kids. A story to share about Steve - as the boys grew older and their level of play grew, Chase's skills with his left foot (he is right footed) didn't progress as quickly. When he had a chance to shoot with his left foot he had to take the extra time to move the ball over to his right foot, and often that would kill the chance to take a shot on goal. So, Steve, and his booming voice, took on the project of reminding Chase, during the game, that he should have used his left foot!!! He handled it in a fun way but nonetheless, he made an impression on Chase. To this day, Chase will tell you he has Steve to thank for getting a scholarhsip to play in college, because without the determination to develop his left foot and show Mr. Harrison he could do it, he would have never become the well rounded player he was.
Steve, we will miss you and we will be here to help Ryan and Rachel any way that we can. This world is a better place for having had you be a part of it. We will miss your spirit and your enthusiasm, and the courage with which you always faced your battle with diabetes. You fought the good fight and we look forward to being with you for all eternity!!
Love, Jim, Jera, Chase & Payton

"Joe" was one of our son Damon's, closest friends, they met at Tire Plus, many years ago. They became fast friends, and have stayed in contact throughout the years. We were lucky enough to have the pleasure of his company, which was a blessing. All through his illnesses, he had the heart and spirt of a warrior. His gentle behaviour belied his pain and suffering. He will be missed, I believe he is standing beside our Lord today, on two good legs, grinning from ear to ear, saying "pass the taco salad". Our life was made richer by his presence, our condolences go to his family .....he will be missed, we all loved Joe!!

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Joe was my manager at Hesselbein Tire in the late 80's. He taught me to take my time with customer's, sell the best product & make a good margin. One memory I have that I would like to share, was the time he took all the shop help water skiing & knee boarding. We all had a great time, most us never even had been water skiing, but he was patient to show us how. I will alway remember him.
