Ben Minto Obituary

MOBILE Ben H. Minto, Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in the Providence Hospital in Mobile.

Mr. Minto was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Betty S. Minto; his parents, Mr. Walter Minto, Sr. and Regina Hermann Minto; and one brother, Robert Belcher Minto.

He is survived by three children, Ben H. (Lauren) Minto, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Linda M. (Bill) Williams of Tallahassee, Fla., and Donald E. (Sivreen) Minto of Mobile; four brothers, Walter Minto, Jr. of Mobile, Richard Collins Minto of St. Louis, Mo., Edward Gordon Minto of Mobile, and Michael Casey Minto of Spanish Fort; three sisters, Mary Jo Honeycutt and Anne Minto Heggeman, both of Mobile, and Emily Minto Bell of Orange Beach; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Little Flower Catholic Church with the entire Alabama Southern Baseball Team as honorary pallbearers. The interment was held at Pine Crest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials may be made to the Outback America Organization, 5710 Watermelon Road, Suite 350, Tuscaloosa, AL 35473.
