Mr. Swindle was one of the kindest and sweetest gentlemen I have ever known. I grew up knowing him when our families attended the First Presbyterian Church in Prattville. He was so fun loving and his positive outlook was contagious. He always greeted me with a big smile and a hug and was interested in anything I had to say. He listened to me and the rest of the kids at church and I remember we all looked forward to seeng him on Sundays. Even though it's been many years since I've seen him, I'll never forget the influence he had on my life. I know he has taken a very special place in Heaven and will be richly rewarded for the wonderful contributions he made to the lives he touched while he was with us. My deepest sympathy to Barbara, Bonnie, John, Susan and their families. May God bless you in your time of grief.

Very sorry to hear about your Dad. I have many fond memories of him as a wonderful, kind and fun guy. I remember how much I enjoyed all us kids sitting in a circle at night in our front yards and Mr. Swindle telling ghost stories. That was great. I share the ones I remember with my grandson now.
My mother told the story for years of me (many times) knocking on your door and asking your mom if Mr. Swindle could 'come out and play.'
I feel fortunate to have known him in my younger years and I extend my sympathies to you.

I was sad to learn of the death of Ben, through my friend Barry Newman. In my early years in Skyland Park, I grew up next door to Ben and Faith and their children. John, Barry & I spent many days together. I remember Ben as a strong and gentle man. It sounds like he lived a beautiful and full life and touched many people along the way. God bless the family during this difficult time.

We were saddened to read on our computer of the death of Ben. We were school friends and in the Tuscaloosa Black Warrior Band together. Ben also served as Choir Director at the Hargrove Memorial Methodist Church for several years, where we attended until we moved to Georgia. We offer our condolences to the family.
