She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James A. "Jimmy" Turner, her parents, Ida Mae Terry Ingram and Dillard Ingram, and her sister, Annette Hubbert.

She is survived by her children, Don Turner, Ric Turner (Trisha) of Tuscaloosa, Glenn Turner (Laurie) of Liberty, North Carolina, and her foster daughter, Marie McCormick of Cleveland, Ohio; her grandchildren, Brian Turner (Mary Jane), Lindsay Turner, and Brittany Turner Denton (John Paul); her great-granddaughter, Farris Turner; her brother, Tommy Ingram (Frances); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise met Jimmy Turner in a Spanish class at The University of Alabama where he had entered school after becoming totally blinded while serving with the U.S. Marine Corps on Iwo Jima during World War II. She became his reader while she pursued a degree in teaching. Upon graduation, Jimmy entered The University of Alabama School of Law and Louise continued to help him as a reader. They married in 1948 and never spent so much as a night apart for the next 53 years. While serving as his reader, Louise became so enthralled by the law that she also enrolled in law school. Jimmy graduated in 1952 and she the following year after serving as business manager for the Alabama Law Review. In 1953 they formed the law firm of Turner and Turner where they practiced together until Jimmy's death in June of 2001. Louise continued to practice until her retirement in 2005. Her life was truly spent in the service of others, and she will be missed by all she touched.

The entire family has my sympathy. I have a story about Mr. Turner from a lady senior citizen friend of mine. She had used a previous attorney for getting her disability. She was no longer able to keep her beauty shop open in Aliceville. She got an apointment with Mr. Turner. She spent hours on her hair and makeup. When she arrived n his office, she realized he was blind and her appearance did not matter. He helped her get her disability. She was impressed by him. Now, she is in a nursing home. Mrs. Turner blessed many by helping her husband and sharing of herself to others.

May God comfort all of you. What a heritage you have!

Rick, Donny and Glen:

I have wonderful memories of your mother since my family is a long time friend of your family. I remember going to her house where Glen and I held rock and roll band practice as 5th graders and she was always very kind and congenial even though our music was terrible.
I have only fond memories of Louis and her family, she is a very cool lady that will be missed by many! My deepest sympathies to you all!

Don and Rick,
I know that the human emotion is to have sadness at the passing of a loved one. This must be compounded by the fact that this was your mother. Don't chide yourselves for feeling sad. I hope, however, that the many memories of what a wonderful person your mother was will soon crowd out any feelings of sadness and leave you with only warm feelings of love and pride when you remember of your mom. God bless you.

Don & Rick:

Your mother leaves a great many admirers and I am one of them. She was always a zealous advocate for her client, but a fine colleague to the opposing lawyer. She was a marvelous role model for all of us.
