Memories and Condolences

Not sure what to say?

I remember when Alice worked at the Athletic Club she would call me to her house to comb her hair. She had five or six vertical curls in the back which were fastened down. I think she gave me $3 each time. A lot of money for me. I also remember being at their house for breakfast and Alice putting brown sugar on oatmeal which was a real treat. At my house, I only got white sugar! Almost all her life she could remember perfectly dates and names from out of the past.

Mom, As I move around the house I still feel very strongly that you are still here. I keep thinking we have to be quiet or we will wake you. The kitties want to use your room to look out the window. If it's warm I let them, by opening the window and feeling the sun. I know how much you liked to feel the sun also. I hope where you are now, you will feel it all the time. Good-by, for now, Love you always, Dede

I have many found memories of Alice and the Morris family. When I was very young and got to be more then my mother could handle she would send me to spend some time with Alice and the Morris family. Those were good times she will be missed by many. The old pictures hold a lot of history, the one taken at the Lynch farm must be from 1939 or 1940. The one of the Brown girls leaves Rita as the only remaining Brown. My prayers are with the Morris family. Michael (Mickey) Lynch

......it's difficult to understand how it feels like you left without warning, considering the nearly generation-long life you lived. It's just that I can't imagine anything without you here. I miss you terribly. I hope you are somewhere with lots of pink things, bunnies, kitties and everyone you missed to make you happy forever. I love you so much Gma. 9-23 Kiersten

These are the things that I will remember most about my grandma... she was a terrific cook and her roast beef and mashed potatoes simply could not be beat. Same with her potato salad, which is now 'my' potato salad. She loved to listen to and yell at the Twins games playing on her kitchen radio. She required a lot of fresh-picked strawberries each spring and, each fall, would inevitably wrangle someone into driving her to get buckets of apples and see the turning leaves. She always had her eye out for 'her' cardinals that would sing to her from the backyard. Her memory was better than anyone I have ever known and she shared a lot of stories about the people in her long life. She called me Kimmie Sue until I was nearly 40, and that was darn funny. She was funny a lot of the time, in fact. I'll miss you Grandma, Love, Kim
