Andrew CARROLL Obituary

Age 32 of Shoreview We are deeply heartbroken to share of the loss of Andrew Carroll, an amazing son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, teammate, mentor, coach, teacher (Magnuson Christian School) and friend who died tragically January 22, 2018 in Chicago, IL. We are deeply grieving, but have the assurance that he is in the loving arms of Jesus because of his decision to accept Christ. At this difficult time, what also gives us comfort is that his life meant so much to so many people and he was able to give the gift of hope by donating his organs so that others might have life. May his love for Jesus and others live through each of us. Survived by his parents, Bill and Sally; brother, Chris (Carissa); nephews and niece, Luke, Jack and Taylor; many other relatives and friends. Andrew enjoyed playing hockey, working out, coaching, backyard wiffle ball and time with his family and friends. Andrew valued relationships and made everyone he met feel important. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7PM Thursday, February 1 with a memorial service at 2PM Friday, February 2 (gathering begins at 1PM) all at EAGLE BROOK CHURCH – Blaine Campus, 3603 - 95th Avenue NE, Blaine. Memorials preferred to HMI-Hockey Scholarships, Jack's Basket (www.jacksbasket.org) or donor's choice.

Dear Billy & Sally,

I never had the honor of meeting Andrew, however, after reading all of the heartfelt comments, it sounds as though he was a wonderful human being, just like the 2 of you.

I am so sorry for your loss, so difficult to understand. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around your family and provide you with peace. God Bless you and know that you will be with Andrew again one day.

My condolences go out to the Carroll family. When I found out that Andrew passed, i was shocked. Andrew was one of my favorite players at the Hershey Bears. He was very nice to everyone I knew and had a great smile and friendly to everyone.

Andrew coached with me at the High Performance 15s Hockey program in St. Cloud for several years. The first time I met Andrew I knew he was a special person. I only saw Andrew for one week each summer but as each new year approached I looked forward to spending time with Andrew. As has been stated over and over again, everyone loved being in his presence. He brought out the best in people. He was happy, humble, and caring. He will be truly missed. Words cannot do justice to the impact he has had on our world. My heart is sad for his family and all who new him, and for all those he had yet to meet.

I never knew Andrew Carroll nor have we ever met. I did hear his story all the way down here in Texas. That's a ways away from y'all, but says one thing, his heart must have been as big as that and was the true measure of an inspiring man. We may not always understand why a man that touches so many lives is called home so early, May God comfort all those lives touched by Andrew Carroll and comfort you in your Sorrow and grief. My condolences to his family.

Andrew was incredibly special! He had a heart as big as a hotel! He will be greatly be remembered for his passion for hockey and his character in the way he treated everyone . I got to know him when he was in Sioux Falls as my late husband and I housed players. He was a great leader as captain and a lot of fun to be around! Know that your family is in our prayers.

AC was truly an amazing human. He was always positive, laughing, and smiling. He always took care of others before himself. He was not only a great mentor and person to look up to and emulate, but also an amazing friend. I'll miss you very much.
