I worked in sales at Northwest in Southdale in the late 70's. I even remember when Swanee did a TV show (on Sundays, I believe) in the 1950's.
He was an inspiration to many and did so much for music in the Twin Cities.
My condolences to the family.

Many happy memories as Swanee helped us get into the organ business. We remember the boys as youngters when we were involved from Faribault. Our sympthies to the family.

My deepest sympathy to the families of Swanee. Adele was my mother's first cousin. My mother was Ethel Olson Holme, wife of Sig Holme and they were also good friends of your mom and dad. Swanee played his organ at my wedding back in 1970. They were great people and Swanee will be sorely missed. If i remember correctly, my dad Sig also worked with your dad at the Bakery in Glenwood, MN. My deepest sympathy to your family.

I worked for Swanee for quite a few years. I delivered organs and pianos, plus worked in part time sales. He helped me a lot in many ways, and will miss him.

I just learned of Swanee's passing. I too was fortunate to be an employee of Swanee for many years. The influence he had resulted in me being in the music business for almost 40 years. There was never a greater promoter and to this day we use many of the techniques he taught. His love of Adie, his family, and his music is a model for us all. My sincere sympathies go to his entire family.

It was my pleasure to work for Swanee during the 1960’s in the twin cities where he had built one of the largest and most successful retail organ and piano businesses in the world. My experience there and opportunity to learn from such a gifted entrepreneur and music industry leader, led to a rewarding musical instrument career including the management of the Steinway Piano Company in New York and Germany. Swanee was one of the most talented and creative persons I have known in my lifetime. He made it possible for literally thousands of people to learn music who otherwise would not have had the opportunity. His influence in the music industry is still being felt to this day, and he will be deeply missed by the many lives he’s touched around the world. My wife joins me in expressing our deepest sympathy to Chuck and Judy Swanson and the entire Swanson family.
