Carol GOLDSMITH Obituary

Age 91 of Shoreview, Minnesota Passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024. She was born December 6, 1932, on a dairy farm in Mason, Wisconsin. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Millard "Clare" Goldsmith. She is survived by her children, Peter (Darlene), Stephan (Nancy), Anne (Doug), Mary (Dan) and Matthew (Julie). Carol was the "World's Greatest Grandmother" to Laura, Katie, Zachary, Casey, Erin, Ian, Molly, Nicholas, Collin, Elli, Peter and Sophia and Great Grandmother to thirteen and one on the way. Carol is also survived by her sister Ruth (Harold) Frederick of Duluth, MN and many nieces and nephews. Carol was a compassionate Oncology Nurse for St. Joseph Hospital for 16 years after her kids flew the nest and continued her legacy of helping others after she retired. Through the years she enjoyed volunteering at the Wilder Nature Centure, League of Women Voters and Bridging. Mom was a devoted and steady presence in our lives, raising five active and rambunctious kids. Attending and being our biggest cheerleader and supporter at all our games, activities, and events, kept her running endlessly. She was always there for us and the many dogs and cats (and animals that the kids dragged home) with unconditional love. She and our Dad cultivated an incredibly close knit family that lives on to this day. For that we will be forever grateful. Mom loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoying time at the cabin on the White River with Dad, gardening, reading and any occasion that brought her family together. She was so loved. A family celebration of her life will be held this summer at the White River cabin. Donations preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or Bridging.
