Carolyn Gantert Obituary

Age 80, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend Born March 25, 1930 in Minneapolis, resided in Ramsey MN and Mulberry FL, and raised her family in New Brighton, MN. She went home to God on January 25, 2011; 9 months after cancer was diagnosed. She faced death as she faced life with gracious dignity, sharp wit, generous hospitality, warm creative writings, and a sparkling smile. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria and Ignatius Nawrocki; and brother, Jack. She is survived by John,husband of 57 years; children, Susan (Steve Hulbert), Anthony and Jeanne (Tom Auron); grandchildren, Sydney Hulbert and Benjamin Auron. She graduated from the University ofMinnesota with a degree in Home Economics with an emphasis in Interior Design. She worked for Dayton's in Interior Design and Fashion, raised her children and then returned to Dayton's as an Interior Designer. It was an honor to be loved by and cared for by this good, brave and brilliant woman. She enriched the lives of all those she touched. Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Good Counsel or St. Mary's Hospice.Special thanks to Cathy, Mom's nurse, and all the wonderful staff and volunteers at OLGC and St. Mary'sHospice. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 with visitation one hour prior to the Mass.
