"That's your prerogative" Was one Mr. Longsdorfs' famous comeback lines to his "sometimes problem" students. I have a couple fond memories from his math classes at Humboldt H.S. 1973 - 1975.
Though small in stature, he could handle his own having been a Middleweight boxer in his youth. R.I.P. Clare.

Clare was my Algebra teacher at Humboldt high school,class of 1961.I saw him at our 40th high school reunion and asked him how in the hell I passed Algebra...he answered with a little smile...barely ! God bless you Clare may you RIP !

Clare was a wonderful man... I had the pleasure of being a student of his at Humboldt (class of 1972) of having him as an adviser when I was the Student Council President and then almost 30 years later getting to know him at Epworth UMC when I was working for D2 and he was donating his time and service to Epworth. He was an honest, thoughtful, caring person. He will be missed by many.

Clare, was such a great guy at Humboldt. He gave me an opportunity to work in the bookstore my Jr year, lots of kids learned new responsibilities there, thanks to him. Very few students were honored to call him by his first name. You knew he believed in you if you were one of them calling him Clare. RIP Clare, You made a difference.

Mr longsdorf was a really good guy. Remember some really good conversations with him. I never had him for a teacher but he really was a good listener if you needed someone to talk to. Rest in peace.
