Dick Bobnick, first cousin
July 26, 2021
The deepest sympathy of my wife Hilery, sons Mark and Scott and myself, go out to Corrine Cylkowski and the entire Cylkowski family. My earliest recollections of my cousin Dan were the many letters he and my mom and his aunt, Rose, exchanged with each other during the war years. Dan returned many of them to me several years ago. I sent him hand printed letters myself at age 5 and 6 years of age. He in turn sent many historic souvenirs to me including a captured Nazi officers cap, a Nazi flag, bayonet, holster belt and other collectables. I was the envy of my friends. In more recent years over the last 20 years Dan and I phoned each other regularly almost every three weeks always discussing big band music, vocalists, recordings, politics, religion and all current events. An average conversation ran 2 to 2 1/2 hours. He followed my son Mark's music career. Mark is an outstanding trumpet player having toured with the legendary Doc Severinsen's big band for two years in 2012 - 2014 and won music scholarshps and many performance awards throughout his high school, university and West Point career. Of course we always saw each other at family events: weddings, funerals etc. I admired Dan
and will certainly miss him, his voice and his opinions. I just know he is having that big reunion in Heaven with family, music legends and wartime buddies. May God keep you in his Heavenly presence Dan.

Dear Mrs. Cylkowski, Greg, and Dan,
Time has taken all of us on the great journey of life. Looking back to the old (1960s) days, of ping-pong tournaments in the basement on Cook Street, as well as HO Slotcar racing, and building model ships, cars, and planes, Dan Senior was an inspiring and caring parent. We had a lot of fun because he made sure that we had good smart fun.
He won´t be forgotten, and neither will his ways of just being the nicest guy he could be to all.
Until we all meet again,
Deepest Sympathy

Dearest Corrine and family... I am SO very sorry for your loss and ours! Dan was a sweet and beautiful soul, with a smile and a hug and that sparkling little twinkle in his eyes always!! I am lifting all of you in my prayers for comfort and peace.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. May your Perpetual Light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
I will miss him...
