Eugene Preston Obituary

Preston, Eugene - 'Gene' Formerly of St. Paul 12/6/1927 - 7/18/2005 Passed peacefully at home. Preceded by wife, Carol; parents; two brothers and three sisters. Survived by daughters, Jane McLain, Connie (Dale) Dahl, Lori (Harlan) Clementson, JoAnn May; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister; four brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was born and raised in St. Paul. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1946, serving until 1947. He married Carol Skara on August 16, 1952. The couple lived in St. Paul until moving to Pine City in 1972. They had enjoyed wintering in Texas since 1984. Gene worked for the city of St. Paul until 1974. Funeral Service 11AM Thursday at KESSLER & MAGUIRE FUNERAL HOME, 640 W. 7th St. at St. Clair (651-224-2341). Visitation 5-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

My condolences go out to the family of Eugene. Growing up in St Paul I can recall the wonderful times I had at the Preston house & with John, Robert, & Wesly. I'm certain he will be missed by the his family & friends.

To my Godfather: The only person who could hug me like my Dad did. You always had the most wonderful laugh. You and mom playing the guitar what a site! My heart is sad but happy that you are with your beloved Carol. God Bless you and all your family! Love Linda
