Eugene Wise Obituary

Wise, Eugene R. age 71, of Hill City, MN and Rio Verde, AZ formerly of Edina, MN passed away on Sunday October 8th, 2006. Gene was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Vivian Wise. Survived by wife Beverly of 50 years, children Michael (Brenda Schieffert) of Chanhassen, MN, Mark (Lanette Johnson) of St. Cloud, MN, Patrick (Peggy Loftus) of Chanhassen MN, James (Kathleen Cassady) of Chaska, MN, Michelle (Matt Hannan) of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Jennifer, Vanessa, Brendan, Garrett, Christian, Mollie, Eleanor, Andrew, Madeline, Katherine, Luke; brothers Ronald (Mary), Jerry (Cheryl), John (Terry). Gene attended DeLaSalle High School, served in the United States Air Force and graduated from the College of St. Thomas. Gene joined Arthur Andersen & Company in 1961, became a partner and retired after serving the firm and clients for more than 30 years. Gene generously supported the Catholic Church, Catholic education and many other charitable organizations including the Minneapolis Lions Club, where he was a member for over 40 years. Gene enjoyed coaching youth sports, fishing, golfing, sketching and painting. Throughout his life Gene made many close friends. His sense of humor and love of life will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 14 at 10:30AM at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 6820 St. Patrick Lane, Edina, MN 55439 (Valley View & Gleason). Visitation prior to funeral, 9:00-10:30. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Ave. So., 17th Floor, New York, NY 10016. A memorial service will be held in Rio Verde, AZ at a later date also.

Bev and Family,
Just wanted to express out deepest sympathy to you and your family. Gene was a great inspiration and teacher to all of us that he worked with. He was always willing to help where he could and his work on the golf course will never be forgotten and was greatly appreciated. We cannot be with you Saturday, but you and your family are with all of us in our prayers.
Another piece of Quadna is gone and will be greatly missed.

I knew Gene through my work as a secretary at Arthur Andersen, and will always remember his sense of humor and positive attitude, along with his big smile!

Gene was a wonderful, bright, fun and upbeat man. He left a legacy in the form of a beautiful family. I know he will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends.
