Maddox family
Uncle Fran will be remembered for a long time by all his family and friends. You cannot not remember him for his attitude, kindness, and especially his humor. He was famous for his hugs and hearty back "pats". Uncle Fran's name comes up when we do those hugs at home. Here's to you Uncle Fran! Till we meet again.....

To all the Maddox families..I want to express my condolence on the passing of your Pa. You were so blessed to have had him for so many years. When we were together, I always felt there was so much love in your family. I always remember his "Back Home Again in Indiana". God's blessings to all.

To Melly and all of the Maddox Families,
It was an honor to have "Pa" in our lives for many, many years. What a dedicated, hard working, fun-loving man! I will treasure the many visits we had while at the Masonic Home...whenever we would have our chat, he looked at me and said "AMEN"! Every time I would leave from my visit, I teared up and thought "he truly should be showing people of all ages the true beauty of living a positive, loving, honest life". He is my inspiration that I will always carry in my heart. You are all a beautiful family that we dearly love. Always, Mike & Connie

On Grand Avenue, I remember the go cart he built. You could steer it, neat. Didn't they roller skate in the gym at Annunciation; my mother told me he was a very good roller skater. Remember his smile, and welcoming chat when we worked on the Milwaukee RR. Remember his girls, Francine, a sweetheart, who baby sat me, and Patty, who beat me up. Sorry, no sorrow from me. He lived life on the sunny side for ninety three years, I envy Francis Eugene.

Uncle Fran was part of my life whwn I was young. His 0lder sister was my Mom who he called (Al). Every year they would take the train to Indiana to see all of us, we waited on that train because we new a lot of fun and love was coming. Both his sisters, and my mom Al and my Aunt Lela his other sister. Unle Fran would sing and we join in. I wish I could write about all things we did with Uncle Fran but it would be a book. Love to all of you kids. He had a great life and I know you all will miss him. (you are my sun shine, my only sun shine, you make me happy when skies are gray) Love

You are a lucky clan to have had such a wonderful example of love and devotion your Dad felt for his family. He lived a long and happy life and I'm glad he stayed for the his 93rd birthday party, what a great celebration.

I too lived on Grand Ave and spent many days playing on the street with all those Maddox kids. My memories of Fran were that he was a family man, who played the sliding guitar and sang for us, the man who built stilts and taught us all how to walk with them. The man who drove mom and I all over looking for a doctor to stitch me up and ending up at General Hospital. I have many fond memories of he and Ike and their kids. They baby sat me when I was 16 as my folks went on vacation and I was working. Good People, who I truly have missed but who live in my heart. My sympathy to the family. Susan O'Donnell Hobot

Uncle Fran, what can you say?He always had a sense of humor,I remember him being questioned by my aunt Eileen about how he got to and from the store so fast as he went to get us all ice cream,he told her that there were no red lights that they were just turning pink. These are the things that stick in my mind when I think back to the good old days .Remember him with smiles.I do.

I have warm thoughts of your father and family. I lived at 5833 Grand.
One of my last times seeing him was having him drive me to Holy Angels in a big orange bus.
He was a kind and gentle man.
I remember him as always giving of himself to others and a good example to all.
I am sorry for your loss.

I have warm memories of your Dad while growing up - (I was young when we were on Grand, but remember Lyndale and Xerxes well). Today when asked about those days, my Mom (Nell) still speaks fondly of 'Ike and Fran'.
We're hopeful the memories from years past comfort you through your time of loss.

I can't remember a time when the Maddox family wasn't a part of my families life. My Dad and Mom were friends of Fran and Eileen from their school days. That friendship never faded it only grew stronger as the years passed. Through bad times and good times my Dad could always count on Fran's friendship and great humor. What a wonderful, long life Fran had and what a terrific, loving family he has left as his legacy. Sending love to each one of you, how I wish I could be there to pay my respects to your Dad just as you were there for all of us when my Dad passed.
He will never be forgotten, Francis Maddox was as fine a man as there ever was.
Sending love and light to all the Maddox family.
