Franklin was the most charming and generous man I had ever met in Minnesota. I am grateful he considered me a friend and vice versa. He was clever, had a wicked sense of humor and an incredibly contagious laugh. I was deeply in love with him but we would always be star crossed lovers. I'm relieved he found love and happiness and only regret he didn't get to live his best life for decades longer. Rest my dear friend. We will all meet again.

A memorable person to everyone he met. Exceptional passion and energy. Loved my/our brother. Always have and always will. Thank you Frank for bringing your precious Sam, Christine, Amber, Paige, and Carter into our lives.

Ackley introduced us and our first date was at Coffee Talk in Taylor's Falls, MN. The chemistry was off the charts. All I could think of was that scene in Moonstruck when Dukakis asks Cher, Do you love him? And Cher responds, Yeah ma, I do. Dukakis didn't miss a beat, Aw gee that's too bad. It fit because I was dealing with unthinkable drama in my life and now before me was a wonderful man that I couldn't deny was perfect for me. Thank you, Frank, for your love and you will always be in my heart. Love, love. Christine

Franklin is at work with me every day. His body might be gone but his spirit lives on

There is never a day where I do not think of Franklin my brother. Hes a brother from another mother whos always in my heart.. I have two photos of Franklin in my office. Whenever I get tired and worn out I look at this picture and have the juice to help people with substance use disorders as I am a counselor. I also share Franklin story with people to them. Get on the love train baby.

My condolences for the loss of a man so full of joy that, though I have not seen him in 30 years, I still recall his smile and the twinkle in his eye as if it was yesterday. His family and close friends are in my thoughts.

Christine, I know that Frank adored you and your girls, and that you have lost the love of your life! I'm so sorry. It's been such a long time since I last saw you two, beaming with love and a seeming forever happiness. I know you have many loving friends to embrace you and help you through this rough time, and I'm one of them. Love you dear friend.

There is more to say about Frank than words can describe. Frank had tons of energy that would spill out of him and grasp onto you. He had love in his heart that did not judge or fade. He loved Sam more than he could ever show, Frank was so proud of his son. He was forever changed when he met Christine and the girls and wondered "how did I get the good one?". Frank was good at heart and had a deep soul. I will miss you Frank, and will be so lucky to see you again someday for you to say "My sista!" "Back at you, Brotha!". All my best to the family. Karyn

Sam--
Your Dad was a really, really good man. He talked so much about how important you were to him and how much love he had for you. I am truly sorry for you and the rest of your family. I know my journey has been better for having walked some of it with your Dad.

We were so happy when Christine and Frank moved next door to us! Frank had a heart & personality larger than life .....always had something good to say. This past Saturday was a very sad day knowing we all had lost such a special man. Our prayers and thoughts are with both Frank's and Christine's family. We will miss him so much.

Franks enthusiasm bubbled over to anyone and everyone around him. He was much more than a fundraiser, he was a true and sincere friend, honest and caring. The world is less without him. Love and sympathy, Christine.

My heart sank to the depths of sadness when I learned of "Frankie's" passing this morning. Tears flowed and I suspect with many others. He was my brother. He was my hero, he was my friend. One day, a mutual friend (Will Hudson) asked me if I would consider hiring Frank. His interview was a disaster of epic proportions. He stuttered, stammered and sweated the entire time. I immediately saw the deep sense of goodness and Godness in him. I hired him and he became the best fundraiser Hazelden ever had. Since then, he has helped me be a better man, a kinder soul and see life from a better perspective. I loved him. My heart goes out to all others who will mourn this special man. Especially his new found family. "Frankie Baby", I love you and will miss you. Bob Ackley.
