Gordon NIELSEN Obituary

Preceded in death by his wife, June Carol May; parents, Walter (AEF WWI) and Marie; siblings, Lorraine (Bill) Nordstrom and Wally (USMC Korea) (Charlotte); nephews, Jim Nordstrom and Mark Nielsen. Gordy will be deeply missed by his children, Susan Bruns (Steve Scott) and David (Diane); grandchildren, Eric Bruns, Hunter (Ashley) and Chase Nielsen; one great-grandson on the way. Gordy graduated from Harding High School in 1950. He was drafted into the Army and served 22 months active duty as a forward observer with 40th Infantry Division Battery A of the 625th FA BN Korea AP06. He was active with many organizations including VFW Korean Unit 1, Montgomery Lodge, and IBEW L.U. #110. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi. Gordy enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, cabin life, and spending time with his family. Visitation will begin at 10am until time of service at 11am on Friday, December 16 at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
