To Ken's family: I also went to school with Ken in Stillwater. I will always remember his smile and easy laugh. He truly was a gentle giant and a gentle man. My prayers are with you all.

Jovi, Shane....my deepest condolences to you. Jovi, I am sure you will miss Kennys' quick tongue and incredible sense of humor. You were his bride. I have wonderful memories of him and his boyish ways and laughter....Shane, your father was always so proud of you. You were the apple of his eye. His face lit up when he spoke of you. I hope the two of you will find strength in knowing how much he loved both of you. The picture is the true Kenny. It was my pleasure working with him through all the wheelings and dealings.
May he rest in peace....and you and the family find peace.

Dear Krahn Family:
Ken was a classmate and good friend of mine from junior high through high school. He was my dance partner in 9th grade physical education class, and we used to ‘dance’ around the gym with me standing on top of his feet. I also remember that as a heavy weight wrestler in junior high he won nearly all of his matches without breaking a sweat---his opponents were completely intimidated by his stature and they’d forfeit the match. The summer after we graduated from high school I worked at a gas station in the St. Croix Valley. Both Ken and Harold would stop in together nearly every day for gas on their way to or from work or Ken, by himself in the evening, all dressed up on his way to pick up a date. We’d sit on the sidewalk outside the station drinking pop, eating candy bars and Planter's peanuts, and we'd catch up on the news in the Valley and generally just ‘shoot the breeze.’ Ken and I also went to see a movie together that summer of ‘72 (Shaft, starring Isaac Hayes) and he treated me to my first ever (and only) White Castle hamburger. I lost track of Ken after I left for college that Fall, but when I think of Ken I will remember his wonderful smile and his larger than life laugh that filled the room, that he truly knew the meaning of being a good friend, and above all, that he was a kind and gentle man. In the days ahead, I hope you will find peace in the warm memories of times past, and comfort in the good wishes of those who love and care for you. May hope sustain you, may friends surround you, and may love give you strength.
