Lawrence JAGOE Obituary

Age 86 of Little Canada, MN Born February 7, 1936 in St. Paul, MN. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family March 27, 2022. Preceded in death by his loving wife Rosemary (Gaisbauer) Jagoe, parents Olive and Lawrence J. Jagoe, sister Laura Jagoe and brother Richard Jagoe. He is survived by his children Patricia Jagoe (Jim), Diana Hartmann (Larry), Jeffrey Jagoe (Mendy) and John Jagoe (Susan); 15 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Lawrence attended Washington High School and the University of Minnesota. He started his career in broadcasting and advertising . After starting his career as an announcer at KCUE in Red Wing, MN, he was hired by WCCO Radio in 1959 as sports producer where he was involved in setting up the original Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings regional radio networks in 10 states. He was also responsible for shaping the University of Minnesota sport network. In 1967, he became the first color commentator for the Minnesota North Stars broadcasts on WCCO Radio. In 1971 he entered the advertising business and was with Bolin Advertising Agency. He served as president of the company and ended his career as Vice Chairman in 1991. During his "retirement" he worked as a driver at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport and enjoyed meeting people traveling to their destinations and getting them to their gates on time. Always with a smile and good banter along the way. During his life he coached little league baseball and youth football. He was involved in forming the Northwest Como Athletic Association, formed the Holy Childhood Choir Fund, was president of the Holy Childhood school board, and served in many capacities with the St. Paul Minutemen. He also had a love for public speaking and was master of ceremonies for many events including the original Mr. Hockey banquets and hosted many of the Princess Kay of the Milky Way ceremonies at the Minnesota State Fair. Golf was one of his favorite activities and he was a member of the St. Paul Town and Country Club and most recently a member of the Como Golf Club playing in many tournaments including King of the Hill. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 22 at 10:30 am at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, 1435 Midway Parkway, St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. The family would like to thank M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital, St. Therese Senior Living at St. Odilia and St. Croix Hospice for their care and support during Lawrence's final days. 651-631-2727

Jagoe and Hartmann Family - I am so sorry to hear about Larry's passing. I remember him as always being so kind, friendly and outgoing. Both he and Rose were the nicest, sweetest couple. Please accept my deepest sympathies for them both.
