To Matt, Andrea, Ann and Mary,
I take comfort in knowing that in the past few weeks each of you were able to have some quality time with your dad.. I know it pleased him. . We know his leaving us took great courage and strength but Father John suggests we not forget it took even greater love. Barb

Mr. McGuire,
I considered you to be one of the "fairest" teachers I ever had. If a student wanted to earn a passing grade in your class, they had to listen during your lectures. A "passing" grade could be possible if one listened. Ah, but if you also did the homework assignment and then took the test, you were rewarded with "extra credit". You told us and stood by it. No tricks, just hard work. Kinda like life.
Too bad life dealt you such a tough hand after retirement. You deserved better. Knowing you for as long as I did, I think you probably turned that into a lesson for everyone too. By example you once again taught us that life isn't always fair, but if you have the right attitude, you can enjoy a fair life.
God bless you and thank you for your lessons of life.

Mick's Family:
Although we have only known Mick for the past two years, we found in him compassion and respect for other people, a huge love for American History and an even bigger love for sports. Behind his quiet manner was a man, who, though small in stature, stood tall because of his kindnesses and generosities towards those whom he touched. We thank you Mick for touching us, for having us in your home and for visiting us in ours. Our prayers and thoughts are with Barb, Matt and Andy and with those who feel the loss and emptiness at this time.
Sincerely,
Art and Gerry

To the entire McGuire Family:
I fondly recall my days @ SHS and truly looking forward to my class taught by Mr. McGuire. He brought so much fun to learning and he made it enjoyable amd memorable!!!
Who can ever forget his trade mark phrase "Flakes, Squirells and Yahoo's."
This such a loss for the community. What a class act he was and an inspiration to many!!!
With deepest sympathy,
John

Thanks for sharing your love of jazz and the New Orleans scene. Your involvement with sports and your knowledge of history and world events were always great resources for conversation and discussion. I regret not giving as much of myself to you as you gave to me.
