I first met LeRoy when he hired me as a Photographer's Assistant for the School of Dentistry's Photo Studio at the UofM.
As a student at University, I was young, akward, impressionable and fatherless. LeRoy knew immediately that I needed guidance and direction. He more than willingly stepped into the role of father figure and Mentor.
I will always be grateful for the kindness, patience, understanding and guidance he provided, when I needed it most.
We may have started out as employer/employee, but I feel confident that we parted as friends.
Clearly, some time and great distance has come between us, but I know in my heart that I am the man I am today in large part because of the compassion shown me by one LeRoy Christenson.
Thank you, LeRoy. R. I.P.

Dear Christenson Family:
I had the good fortune to get to know LeRoy as a colleagues and a friend since I joint the School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota in 1974. Our shared love and commitments to use of photography, videos and audios to support and enhance the teaching and practice of dentistry at the UM resulted in spending countless hours working together. Le Roy and his staff often joked that since I spent so much time in the studio, I should have a desk in LeRoy’s office.
After Le Roy’s retirement from the UM, Le Roy and I had countless opportunities to chat about our lives and the ever changing world of photography and graphics during our hair cut at the HUB Barber Shop in the Har Mar Mall.
I will truly miss LeRoy, my sincere sympathy to the Christenson family.

To LeRoy's Family,
LeRoy was a very special cousin to me. I was 5 years old when the U.S. entered WWII. LeRoy visited our family in Long Beach many times when he was stationed nearby. He was always so good to me and I was so very proud of him. I remember his giving me some of his service ribbons to wear on my solders uniform. In the years following the war he and Audry continued to be very close to our family. It saddens me very much to hear of his passing.
I wish to extent my sympathy to his family

LeRoy was a gentle man. Every time we spoke he gave me his total focused attention. I always walked away happy to know him. His kind-hearted, genuine personality will be missed by everyone he touched. God has welcomed him.

LeRoy will be missed by all of those people who worked with or used the Credit Union at University Lutheran Church of Hope. His faithfulness in serving was outstanding, both with the credit union and the church. Thanks be to God for the life of LeRoy and the times we shared together.

I remember working with LeRoy Christenson in the 1980s when he was so helpful in creating promotional materials that were used at dental meetings across the country. He was a very nice man - truly one of the good guys in this world. I'm very sorry for your loss.
