Lillian Fogarty Obituary

Beloved Mother and Grandmother December 29,1915-June 16, 2010 On June 16, 2010, Lillian (Christy) Fogarty was taken home to be with the Lord. She will be dearly missed by her six beloved children; Sharon Fogarty, Judy Tataryn (Orest), Mary Jo Torinus, Charles Fogarty III (Harriet), John Fogarty (Deborah) and Kristi Petralia (Jim), as well as her eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Christy was born and raised in North St. Paul, where her parents, Peder and Karla Christensen, emigrated from Denmark in 1912 and began Acorn Greenhouses, a rose growing operation. She attended University of Minnesota where she received a degree in nursing and subsequently became one of the first flight attendants for American Airlines. She then married Dr. Charles William Fogarty Jr. in 1941. Christy was a devoted wife, lovingly supporting her husband in his early days in the military and well beyond his professional medical career. She led an active life, rich with love of family and friends, and she was so very proud of her six children. Christy will be remembered for her charm, grace, wit and zest for life. She was a delight to so many. A special thanks to those who have shown such love and compassion in her last days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Christy's name to Health East Hospice, in care of The Pillars. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 18, at O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral and Cremation Services (575 S. Snelling Ave, Saint Paul, 651-698-0796). A special prayer service will begin at 7:00PM. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Dear Fogarty Family,I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful neighbor and good friend to our mother, Betty Soshnik. It was great growing up with your family on "Pill Hill". Dear Judy & Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Just be comfortable knowing that she is at peace and will never feel an ounce of mortal pain in her life in heaven as she waits for everyone to join her up there.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 22nd will be the 11th Anniversary of my mother , Betty Iverson's passing away just six months after I lost my husband Sam.
I now feel their presence in my life all the time in a different deeper seated dimension.
I found writing daily journals about my feelings as the reality of their losses sank in was so therapeutic. I now go back and read those intense, loving thoughts which I put into my computer and printed out on a soft aqua blue paper. It brings tranquility into my life knowing they are at peace and knowing how they imacted my life forever.
With Love & Prayers For You All,

Fogarty family, we live in the old house on Iglehart now, and it is always your mom and dad's house. Every person we meet seems to know who lived here and has stories for us. Your names are still marked up in the attic with indelible ink and that must be your father's work bench in the basement. We clearly moved into a home with love and great energy. Our condolences on your loss. The Smith Family

She was my "second" Mom! I felt like I was part of the family. It did not seem normal if I didn't come by and she and "Doc" did not address me as "Cronk the Donk". What a treasure and wonderful person. I carry many fond memories!

Dear Cousins, My fondest memory of your Mother was when I was a little girl and she knit clothes for my doll. I treasured them. She had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. Love to you all,
