Margaret Mary KEPPEL

1927 - 2015

Age 87, of Edina, Minnesota died Saturday, April 18, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert E. Keppel; her seven children: Mark Keppel (Betty), Paul Keppel, Mary Zack, Thomas Keppel (Haydee), Christopher Keppel (Louise), Margaret Collins (Alex), Barbara Kingston (Thomas); and ten grandchildren; Sarah, Philip, Madison, Anne, Katie, John, Mike, Molly, Ella, Joseph; a brother, Ralph Dolan and sisters, Joan Hardiman amd Mary Delaney. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Anne Dolan. Margaret was born September 3, 1927 in Glencoe, Minnesota to Ralph James Dolan and Anne (Kill) Dolan. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in St. Paul, MN, and attended the University of Minnesota until she was employed as a flight attendant at Delta Airlines. In 1950 she was employed as a flight attendant at Northwest Airlines and was stationed at Seattle, WA. While in Seattle she met Robert Keppel, an engineer at Boeing Airplane Company, who she married in 1952. Margaret was a member of the League of Catholic Women, and a member of the Women's Club of Minneapolis. She holds the rank of Lady Grand Cross of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Since 1952 Margaret was a homemaker for her large family, and enjoyed golfing, skiing and water sports. She enjoyed many years with her family at their summer home on Gull Lake, MN, and many winters at their winter home in Naples, FL. In her last years Margaret suffered with Alzheimer's Disease. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 5 PM at the Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel at 5000 West 50th & Highway 100, Edina and a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of Our Lady of Grace, 5071 Eden Ave., Edina, MN on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10 AM (visitation at 9 AM) with a 2:30 PM Burial at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
