To the Fitzgerald Family,

We were so saddened to hear today of your Dad's death. Unfortunately we were out of town when he died & missed the obituary in the paper and just now heard from his neighbor, Jean. We live to the left of Mike and so enjoyed having him as both a gentle presence and a perfect neighbor. I was looking forward to seeing
him outside today, on my day off, so that we could exchange our latest observations of the pond, the weather and how he was doing...only to unexpectedly find out that he was now with your mom.

Although we've never met you, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your familes.

If there's any way we can help with anything related to taking care of the house, the grounds, etc., we'd be pleased to do whatever we can. We don't know how to get in touch with any of you to offer more direct help but please feel free to call me, Susan, at 651-662-4539. Providing help to you at this time would be a small gift we could offer in honor of your dad.

We know how much he missed your mom and we hope that your beliefs will provide comfort in knowing that they are together again.

Warmly,

Susan Maples & Lorrie Louder

Sean and Family, I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. I will miss seeing him at Corey's basketball and baseball games this year as well as the conversations we had at the football and baseball games that Corey and Tyler played together. From my family, our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

To the sons of Mike and Jonette: No better enduring friendship than the one we had with your Dad & Mom. From the time we met in Bloomington (1970) as parents of two elementary school sons we connected and even though we moved out of state two years later we visited regularily by phone, greeting cards and home visits. We have lost two very special friends but know your loss is magnified. Find comfort in Gods grace. Al & Bev Larson, San Diego

To the Fitzgeralds, I remember Mike as a soft spoken man who was kind to a little girl. It's been a long time from the Christmas celebrations on Vicksburg Lane (your Aunt Betty's) and at my Uncle Frank and Aunt Claire's. Good times rough housing with the littles- Kerry, Sean and Rory.
I'll see you today with my niece Becky Coyle(Karen Treise's daughter).Deep sympathy and blessings to you at this tough time. Love, Cousin Marilyn Amundsen

Please accept my deepest sympathies.I worked with Mike for over 30 years at Unisys Corp. and we talked frequently about work and our activities outside of work. Mike was so much fun to talk to, he had a great sense of humor and when we talked sports he knew every player right down to his stats. Each Monday, we discussed what should have or should not have been done in the Vikings game. Mike was a great guy,and a great friend. I will not forget him.

Kerry, Sean and Rory,
I was so sad to hear about your Dad. The memories I have of him and your uncles Tim and Terry are from the wonderful holiday dinners at Aunt Claire and Uncle Frank's house in St. Louis Park. I have not seen any of you since you were very young but your Aunt Karen shared some pictures of you guys when I visited Minnesota last year. I hope to see you in the future as I am planning to return to Mn.

Love from your 2nd.cousin Karen Treise Kris and Becky Winkelman's Mother

So sorry to hear about your Dad. I haven't seen any of you for years but hope to make it to the funeral with my aunt Marilyn Amundsen. I remember Christmas's when we were all around 7-10 years old. Boy time sure flies!

Please know that you and your families are in our thoughts and prayers. We didn't get to know Mike until his wife passed away. We enjoyed many visits with him and our kids enjoyed him too. He will be deeply missed. Try to take comfort in that he is happy being back with his wife. Please let us know if we can do anything for you.
