Played guitar and sang in Mike's first band at South Junior High School, Grand Forks, North Dakota where we "headlined" in the school's auditorium. Even in junior high school Mike drummed at a skill level that was simply amazing for someone his age. Moved to Florida from Grand Forks in 1972 and did not see Mike again until 1986 when I visited the Ha Ha Club with my cousin and found a box of REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups displayed at his ticket window. Mike was a good friend in junior high and high school. Also, his parents were very nice people too.
Nothing compared to Mike playing "Wipeout" on the school's lunch table!
My sincere condolences to Mike's family and friends.

I'm sorry to hear of Michael's passing.
We were both cast members at central High's
production of " Damn Yankees".
I was Joe Hardy and he was Mr. Applegate.
He was great!
Peace be with you, T

I am so sorry to find that my old friend Mike has passed. I first met him in Grand Forks when he was a photographer for the Grand Forks Herald. Next time I saw him he was auditioning to drum for another friend's band. We reconnected when he moved to Minneapolis as a drummer and then opened the Ha Ha Club. I am so sorry to have lost touch with this beautiful and kind soul. My deepest condolences.
