Patrick Joseph O'HALLORAN

Died November 9, 2018. Born July 19, 1931 in Saint Paul. Preceded in death by parents, Dolores and John O'Halloran; wife, Adele (nee Turenne); sisters, Anne O'Halloran, Mary Nolan and Eline Breon. Survived by wife, Nancy; children, John (Deborah), Patrick Jr. (Julia), James (Jackie), Theresa (David Johnson), Ann (Bob Cunningham), Adele (Doug Jones) and Mary; brother, John (Cynthia); grand children, John Murphy and Charlotte O'Halloran, Joshua O'Halloran, Anna, Fiona and Celestine O'Halloran-Johnson, Jimmy and Katie Cunningham, Nick (Lisa) and DJ Jones; two great-grandchildren, TJ and Jayce Jones, and many nieces and nephews. Pat's life was defined by proudly being Irish, a St. Paulite, and a Cretin High School alumnus. He was co-captain of the Cretin hockey team that went 28-0, winning the state championship in 1950. After serving in the Marines and following the tragic death of his father in 1950, he returned to work for O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Homes under the keen supervision of his mother. Pat loved his St. Paul and Irish Catholic heritage, tennis and golf, but especially loved hockey. He was an NHL scout and an investor in hockey leagues. Pat enjoyed a good political discussion and ran for State Representative in the 1950s. His service to the St. Paul Irish community was honored when he was named Mr. Pat by the St. Patrick's Association in 1988. Most of all, Pat loved spending time with his family, particularly at his cabins in WI, and later in FL. Visitation at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (575 So. Snelling Ave, 651-698-0796) from 4-8 PM on Fri, Nov 16. Visitation also one hour prior to Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Sat, Nov 17 at Church of the Assumption, 51 7th St W, St. Paul.
