I met Carrington as a part of the Perkins gang late one night in 2004. We may have strongly agreed to disagree on politics and opposing political viewpoints but we became good friends and had spirited conversations on an interesting and diverse range of topics. Usually but not always, our conversation led to discussions on faith and beliefs. I miss my friend, I miss Paul Carrington Ashton the Lion of good conversation and laughter.

I was friends with Carrington through George and Karen Body and the Tuesday night gang at the Roseville Perkins Restaurant.
Our discussions together were never shallow and always engaging, oftentimes entertaining and on occasion usually, but not always political. We talked faith, exercise, friends and heritage and notably politics yet our differences were cordial, memorable and brought us together as friends.
He always took an interest in my son's education and growth.
We will miss him dearly.
May the blessings of the Lord be upon you, my friend.

To the family - Gary and I are so sorry to read of Carrington's passing. Gary had just talked to him not long ago. We had a great time helping him with his auction a few years back and always enjoyed our time with him. He and Gary shared many interests and talking to him was always a most engaging experience.

I worked with Paul at 3M. He blessed my life with his smile and friendship. The first thing I thought of when I read his obit, was his hearty laugh. To his family & friends-- may your memories and God's tender care bring you comfort.
