Richard WALGREN Obituary

Age 88 Died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, October 26th, 2013. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Florence and brother Ken. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years Hazel (Hodos); children Tom (Sue), Dave (Lynn), Nancy Jacobson (Kim); grandchildren Elise, Jackie, Mindi, Jenell, step grandchild Jolene and great grandchild Linnea. Dick was a story teller extraordinaire. His stories were often based on his experiences as a US Marine in WW2, a career in banking extending for over 40 years, his many friends (especially the gang from Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church), his travels, his faith and of course his family. The family wishes to thank the VA hospital in St. Cloud for the compassionate, professional care Dick received. A memorial service will be held at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail N., Scandia on Wednesday, October 30th at 1PM, with a visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred to Elim Lutheran Church, Gammelgarden or the Alzheimer's Research Center of Saint Paul. 651-439-5511

Dear Aunt Hazel, Tom, David and Nancy, So sorry for your loss. Uncle Dick was an incredible man and made me feel like we knew each other for a hundred years. Loved his stories and how much he loved his family. Sorry I won't be there to say goodbye, but know you are all in my thoughts.

Love, Tim (Debbie) Dunbar

Aunt Hazel, Tom, David & Nancy, so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dick was an incredible man and made me feel like we had known each other for a hundred years. Loved his stories and the love he had for his family. They broke the mold when they made him. Sorry I won't be there to say goodbye, but know I have you all in my thoughts. Love, Tim (Debbie) Dunbar
