Robert "Bob" DASSOW

Age 97 of Cottage Grove Passed away October 5, 2023 Bob enjoyed assembling model airplanes, watching car racing, carpentry, golf, fishing, hunting, and listening to country western music. He was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers. He was proud of his Navy service as an aircraft mechanic and his subsequent career as an aircraft engineer with Republic Airlines. Bob was dedicated to the Cottage Grove community, serving in the volunteer Fire Department, as an usher at the Church of St. Thomas Aquinas, and as a volunteer at the Dorothy Day Center. Bob loved spending time with neighbors, friends and family, sharing stories and teasing with gentle humor. He will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am, Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 at Kok Funeral Home 7676 80th St. S.; Cottage Grove, MN with a one-hour visitation prior to service. Preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Clara; step-mother, Irene; his brother, Edgar and sister-in-law Florence; and his son-in-law Donald. Survived by Lucille, his wife of over 70 years; his brother, Dale (Vernell); his children, Daniel (Barb), Linda (David), and John (Avni); four grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, Nicole, Rob; and seven great-grandchildren.
