Uncle Rog,

Troy, Tony and their wife’s, my Dad, along with the rest of the family had a nice funeral and reception for you on August 15th. The church service went well as can be expected. The United States Air Force had funeral support present. They gave you a 21-gun salute and presented your family with your service flag. I received the flag since I was a family member in military dress. I presented your flag to Troy since he is the oldest son. I thank you for you service as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and I also thank you for all the love and laughter you have given so many of us throughout the years. Your funeral was the hardest day of my life. We will miss you with all our hearts and we love you very much.

P.S. I know you are watching over me and all those you loved.

Your Loving Nephew,

Johnny Hobot

Roger:

"What A Wonderful World" it was, while you were here. That song will always remind us of you and of all the good times we had together. You and your family are like family to us, and we will miss you so much. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, Roger-Dodger. Peace and love to you from all of us. To Troy, Anthony, Doris, and all the rest of the Hobot family:

I am very saddened to hear of the news of Roger's passing in an email from my wife, Robin, but I also know that he is now in a much better place and that he is suffering no more. He has been in my prayers continuously since my reserve unit was mobilized back in January and I had hoped to see him upon my return home. Roger was the best of friends that one could ever ask for. He gave of himself in ways that few people do and I know that nothing gave him more pleasure than to be surrounded by his family and friends and to know that he made a difference in all of our lives. And he did and I will miss him dearly.
