I just learned of Sharon's death, and want to offer my condolences to all of her family and friends. Sharon was a dear friend to me when we were in school together at Valhalla High School in New York where we had classes together almost every period. I still remember spending the nights at her home and she in mine over the four years I lived there - and her coming to visit me in Connecticut after my family moved there. We reconnected about fifteen years ago as the Internet made such things possible and though we didn't communicate often I still considered her a dear friend and one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing (not to mention one of the smartest). I thank God for the pleasure of knowing her and I'll never forget her.

My condolences to Sharon's family. I was fortunate enough to work with Sharon many years ago at Dataserv, where she was highly respected for her intelligence and common sense approach to corporate challenges. She touched everyone she met.

Our family met Sharon and the Gibson family through their son Daniel, who is friends with our son. As we got to know them we enjoyed their company, and realized what an intelligent, warm, wonderful person Sharon was. As others here have said, she was a devoted mother and wife, and accomplished professional. She worked selflessly for the community and will be missed by many -- even those she may not realize she touched over the years. What a very sad event.

My heartfelt sympathies and prayers for Mark, Daniel and Rabecca. I was so lucky to recieve guidance from Dr. Sharon as my doctoral dissertation chair. I keep Sharon in high regards especially for her sweet genetleness, skillful guidance and patient support in my research journey.
I would not have been dare enough to take the topic " the quest for wholeness, without her magnanimity.
She was a great person with a great soul and keen mind.
She will be in my prayers and she shall be greatly missed.
May the Almighty shine His face upon her for eternity,

I worked as a preschool teacher at the Jewish Community Center in St Paul and I had her son Daniel in my classroom.
I always remembered her friendly smile and her love for her children.
My prayers go out to the Gibson family during this very difficult time.

I was privileged and blessed to have had Sharon as my advisor, instructor, coach, and mentor. I was always impressed that some one so gifted intellectually was also so down-to-earth. I will remember Sharon as warm, engaging, kind, compassionate, and affirming. I am sad for the students who will never benefit from her teaching, but I am thankful for the positive impact she had on my life and the lives of so many others. My deepest sympathies to Sharon's family. May the peace of God be with you now and in the days ahead.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sharon's family and colleagues at St. Thomas. Sharon taught the first course I took in the HR Master's Program and she gave me such a positive impression of the University and the Program that I knew without a doubt I had made the right decision to enroll. She was kind, intelligent, and inspiring. I feel blessed that I was given the opportunity to learn from her.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. As one of her students at St. Thomas, I found her to be an excellent mentor and teacher. She was available and open to talk to and an engaging and excellent instructor. I learned a lot from her about leadership. I am sad to know that others will not benefit from her energy, enthusiasm and heart. She will be missed by many.

I can't tell how much I will miss my good friend Sharon. From the minute we started working together at Ceridian, we became instant friends. She had a higher calling beyond corporate America and pursued her passion for teaching and research. As dedicated as she was to her work and volunteerism, nothing was more important to Sharon than her family. Mark, Daniel, and Becca - please accept my deepest sympathies.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news about Sharon passing away. It just seemed like I finished her class just yesterday and it was almost four years ago this fall. I remember her caring and interest in the new HRD program in the School of Education. I think I was in the first class she taught for Intro. to HR Development. She will be truly missed. Thank you for all that you taught me Sharon. Maureen Mook (Minneapolis, MN)

I was saddened to hear of Sharon’s passing. I had the pleasure of learning from her in class and as my advisor during my studies. She was a gifted educator and she played a part in my success at St Thomas. Her loss will be felt dearly by her family and friends and it denies so many the opportunity of benefiting from the gifts of her knowledge, skills, and sense of humor. She will be missed.

I am SO very sorry to hear this news. Sharon was not only my professor for several courses, but also my Advisor at St. Thomas. She was always so generous with her time and her knowledge. She spoke so highly of her family and you could tell she was not only a strong career woman but a wonderful and loving mother and wife! She will be missed!
