Thomas BAKER Obituary

Our beloved Thomas Wold Baker, gentleman, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and lifelong friend to many, passed away on December 6, 2022 at United Hospital with his family by his side. He succumbed to injuries sustained in an automobile collision caused by a distracted driver. Tom was born in Minneapolis to Helen and Arnold Baker, Sr. on September 27, 1943 joining his older brother Arnie Jr. He graduated from University High School, Minneapolis, and Mankato State College, Mankato with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He was honored to serve in the US Air Force, where he was stationed in Tucson, AZ, and South Korea. Tom followed in his father and brother's footsteps and worked in insurance and pension administration in the family business which he was particularly proud of. He was a man of great wisdom, a calm in the storm with a memorable wit to his daughters and sons-in-law. His greatest love was his wife, Kathy, who stood by his side through 56 years of marriage and who stoically guided the family like no other. Tom also cherished his time on the Roehl family farm located in Fergus Falls, MN as well as family winter holidays on Marco Island, FL. Tom was preceded in death by his loving parents Arnold, Sr and Helen (Nana and Pops) and sister-in-law, Diane Baker. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy (nee Roehl); his cherished daughters Allison (Steve) Janky; and Andrea (Anthony) Etienne; grandchildren Ella and Thomas Janky, older brother, Arnie Jr, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many cherished, lifelong friends, too numerous to mention. The family would like to acknowledge two very special friends and dear neighbors who supported them in the final days of this immeasurable and painful loss to all who loved him. He will be interred alongside many generations of his beloved family at Lakewood Cemetery. Funeral Service Friday, December 16, 1:00 P.M. at Lakewood Cemetery Memorial Chapel 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation 12;00-1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to donor's choice. 651-767-9333
