My name is Midge , and I'm the oldest of the Coonan rugrats who lived next door to Bill and his family, across the street from St.Kate's. I remember playing kickball and softball with Bill and the rest of the neighborhood kids on the field there, long before there were any dorms built. We would also escape through the hole in the fence behind Stophlet's garage to SPA (much to his father's chagrin!) and play there, too. There was a lot of fun, a lot of squabbles, and even outright fights. Us kids called his dad 'Stogie", 'cause he seemed to always be smoking a cigar. I remember his sister Bonnie, and his mom, too. Those were the good old days, mostly. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
