You are all in my thoughts. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by your memories, and the love of family and friends.

I always smile to myself when I think of Dr. Young, this is why...

I've told this story many times. I was five years old when I went to my first birth. My mom, Kym Groves had a homebirth in 1975 with Dr. Young in attendance. As a 5-year-old, my recollection of the birth was Dr. Young stated its a girl when he saw the head. I was so excited to have a sister.

I went on to become a special education teacher, and after some time, when I needed a career change, I became a CPM, Certifed Professional Midwife. For the last 7 years, I have had the privilege of attending homebirths in Madison, WI. I believe I was always meant to be a midwife. I thank my Mom and Dr. Young for influencing my young mind.

Dr. Young was my doctor for a number. O years. When I was expecting my youngest. I tried get him to do a house call, so at least one of my children could be born in MN. Plus weaved in the old hospital which had an operating room. We joked about it for years.

He was such a kind person.

Condolences to you his family.

Dr. Bill Young was a true family practice doctor and a mentor to me when I joined the River Valley Medical Group. He was an example of wisdom, kindness and patience. His change of career after 8 years of teaching reminds us it is never too late to make a big change and follow our hearts. HE WILL BE MISSESD!

I was introduced to Bill and Barb when they joined my senior exercise group at SCRMC. Bill was such a humble, caring individual with a wonderful sense of humor. Bill, along with the rest of the group were able to join me through many seasons of life- loss of family, marriage and having children. He gave me advice and encouragement that I hold dear to me to this day. I am grateful that I was able to be your "captain" of our exercise class.

Never met a diner man! He was my Dr growing up. He still asked my mom about me when she ran into him at the store not too very long ago. He will be missed here on earth but we will rejoice with him in Heaven one day!?

Bill delivered Travis Lundeen as his last baby. He and Barb and Chris were close to all of us. I also enjoyed working with him when I was an SLP at the hospital. My mom, Carole Hagstrom, was a dear friend as well. He was an amazing dr and friend

Dr Young was an ever smiling, very pleasant positive presence in any room he was in. His radiance would light up any situation, and he had a certain comforting warmth he brought with. That said, hidden beneath the loving, often jovial and almost casual exterior was a deep thinker who thought about the world's problems in a very comprehensive and meticulous manner.

People with such a layered personality and a deep caring soul are rare; and their loss leaves the world less rich.

Wishing his soul eternal peace; and the family strength to cope with the loss of a jewel!
