David Miller Obituary

David Miller, age 41, passed away Dec. 8, 2010 at his home in Whiterocks. He was born Nov. 2, 1969 in Brigham City, Utah, into what became a mixed family–Margaret Fredrickson Galley being his birth mother and Randy Miller his birth father. Dale Galley was his step- father and Carol Miller his step- mother. He had three older siblings, Randy Miller Junior, Stacy Galley, Valorie Galley Johnson and three younger siblings, Tetra Miller Garcia, Frances "Annie" Galley Hunt, and Dalene Miller.
David left one son, Durrell Miller, whom he loved with all of his soul, heart and body. He was proud of Durrell and felt him to be nearly perfect. He helped raise his nieces and nephews: Phileena Garcia, Victor Garcia, Lillia Garcia, Tonie Robertson, and Thomas Robertson. He was a big influence in the lives of his nephew, Robert Hunt and niece, Shelby Hunt. Darin, Garrett, Serena and Matthew Galley were nephews and a niece whom he loved dearly.
David was lucky to have found the love of his life, Sheila Wopsock, and he loved her family of Thomas LaRose, Natalie LaRose, and Boyce Manning. Even though they had just a few short months together, the pain of losing him will be less with the knowledge that he finally found someone that loved him for who he was, and he loved her and her family with all his heart.
David loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting or roofing Yes, roofing, he was fortunate to love what he did, whether in the heat of a blazing sun or in freezing weather. He loved running the Green River in a rubber raft, skiing, both snow and water, and he loved the Uintah Mountains. Watching sunsets was great, but his biggest joy was watching the sun come up. He was a gifted artist and left some but not enough of his work for his family to treasure.
David never said a bad word about anyone and was always willing to help someone with anything he could. He was generous to a fault and liked to laugh. A "die hard" Dallas Cowboy fan, David shed unashamed tears when they lost. He played basketball for both Union and Uintah Varsity Teams and enjoyed tossing the hoops whenever he got a chance. David graduated from Uintah High and Haskell Collage.
David was preceded in death by his father, Randy Miller, step-father, Dale Galley, sister, Linda Ann Oldson and his grandparents.
David died of an alcohol-related death. The family would like to warn everybody that alcohol is a product that causes extreme pain, not only for the person that consumes it, but for a large circle of family and friends that watch the slow and painful death.
Funeral services will be held at the LDS Ballard Church on Tues., Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held in John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, monetary help with the funeral would be appreciated.
