MICHAEL "LOGAN" BAKER

1995 - 2024

Michael "Logan" Baker, passed away at his home in Jamestown on September 3, 2024. He was 29 years old. Logan was born on a rainy morning April 17, 1995 to Shawna Patrice Baker and Michael Steven Baker at the Sonora Community birth center. Logan attended Knights Ferry and Columbia Elementary Schools where he graduated 8th grade. He started as a Freshman at Sonora High School and graduated from Ted Bird High School Independent Study in Sonora. He played youth baseball, wrestling and football. Logan's passion was bull riding. He attended West Hills College in Coalinga and was a member of the rodeo team as a bull rider. At four years old he won his first buckle at a Mother Lode Rodeo kiddie event. At five years old he started riding his birthday gift "Doc" , an American Quarter Horse gelding his Mom bought him. He joined the NorCal Junior Rodeo Association riding steers and quickly moved up to Jr. then Sr. Bull riding. He was the Manager of White Diamond Cattle and The Triple L Ranch. He raised bucking cattle, Bulls, Cows and Calves and took them to many events including the PBR. Logan was an accomplished horseman. He could rope, ride and handle any type of cattle with ease. His peers call him a "Bull Man". He loved animals, he bred and raised working cow dogs. He loved his family and friends with a fierce loyalty from the day he was born.
Logan married the love of his life Jennifer, his "Jenny Girl" in a beautiful ceremony on December 5, 2022 at The Valley of Fire State Park Moapa Valley, Nevada. They met as teenagers competing in California High School Rodeo CHSRA District 3 home arena in Lincoln, CA.
Logan is survived by his wife Jennifer Baker of Jamestown, his Father Steve Baker of Sonora, his Sister Laney Hutchins of Knights Ferry and his brother Lance Baker of Jamestown. His grandparents Steve & Jo Ann Baker of Columbia and John and Nina Collins of Columbia. His Aunt Anna Baker of Columbia. His Uncle Kevin Baker of Columbia. Cousins Jacob Baker and Tamryn Collins of Columbia. His Cousin/Brother in law and Sister in Law Treyton and Janelle Baker and his niece Siss Rose Baker of Escalon. He was preceded in death by his Mother Shawna Baker in 2015.
A private graveside service for family will be held at Dambacher Mountain Memorial Cemetery, Lyons Bald Mountain Rd, Sonora, on Saturday September 21, 2024. A memorial celebration of life open to anyone who knew Logan or his family will start at noon on Saturday September 21, 2024 at The Triple L Ranch in Jamestown.
