My condolences to the family of Al, his two sisters Lillian & Bernie; his brother; and family members. I first met Al when he and his twin brother Bob started working at NH Insurance/AIG. At first I couldn't tell him and Bob apart but as I got to know him, they did not look alike. I worked with Al for 36 years until my retirement and Al always wore a smile. A cheerful guy, smiles all the time, and very dedicated to the Explorers Group. Last time I spoke with Al was at the Manchester Country Club for our annual retirement dinner and we always had many memories to talk about. I kept in touch with Al thru emails. He will be missed greatly.

To the family of Albert J. Couture:
On behalf of the Catholic War Veterans, Department of New Hampshire, we wish to offer our condolences on the loss of one of our most highly respected members. Al joined CWV in 1970 and has been an active member of Donald A. Roberge Post 1755 in Somersworth along with the State Department ever since. He served as a post officer and on various committees at the state level. He distinguished himself in many ways - volunteer at parish breakfasts, dinners, fairs and fundraising activities associated with St. Martin Church; volunteer at the Holy Trinity Parish Beano fundraiser; church usher; member of Pease Greeters meeting troops at all hours of the day and night; volunteer at the Somersworth Historical Museum; member of the famous Burger King Daily Politics 101 Breakfast Forum; volunteer and blood donor with the American Red Cross; and performance of Post Honor Detail for departed comrades. Al was the recipient of the Department of New Hampshire Hall of Fame Award in 2012 and was inducted into The Honor Legion of the Order of St. Sebastian (CWV's highest award at the national level) in 2013. His love for God, Country and Home was second to none.

Al, what a smile he always had when we worked together with the Red Cross Blood drives. He and I use to have so many giggles over silly things but to us, they were funny. He loved doing his puzzle book, something I will always remember as I do mine. He loved helping others, always with a joy in his heart. His faith will surely be rewarded in Heaven.

Uncle Al, I hope you are at peace. Thank you for everything you have done for me growing up. I have spent a lot of time the past few days thinking about so many good memories. I can still remember you pulling up to the house on weekends with popcorn in hand, whistling out the window of your car to get Toby riled up. Watching the Bruins and Red Sox on TV. Playing hockey with me in the basement rink and many more. You are missed. I love you, Billy

I was a member of Al Couture's explorer post 617. He gave tirelessly to this, and I am sure I was not the only young person he helped and influenced. He helped set me on a successful career, as well as many other young people. He was a fine gentleman, and I will remember him with thanks and respect.
Thank you, Al.

You have lost an amazing man. We knew him from scouts and my dad knew him from AIG. Always ready to help anyone. Al was a great man in many ways and we hope his last years were not too hard on him. May many good memories keep him close to your hearts. He will long be remembered by anyone who ever met him. May the Great Master of all Scouts be with him until we meet again.

I first met Al when I was 15 when I joined Post 617. I remained involved in the Post for several years until AIG ended the program. I went with Al to two National Exploring Conferences, and we used to go to the Red Cross center to give blood together for several years after that.
Al was a great influence in my life, and certainly a great mentor. Five years ago, I was given the opportunity to help start, and be Advisor for a Venturing Scout crew, it was numbered Crew 617 in honor of Al, and all the lives he so selflessly impacted for so many years.
